Overview

AlgoEd is an AI-based university counseling platform that helps students secure admissions to top US and UK universities. The goal was to design a conversion-focused landing page that feels youthful, intelligent, and trustworthy — balancing the seriousness of academics with the warmth of mentorship. The final design communicates clarity, confidence, and approachability while encouraging users to sign up.

Objective

To design a clean, student-friendly landing page that positions AlgoEd as a credible AI admission counselor — motivating users to sign up by showcasing value, outcomes, and social proof in an inspiring, structured way.

Role

As the Lead UI Designer, I crafted the page’s structure, layout, and visual tone to align with the brand’s educational yet tech-driven personality. My work included designing engaging hero visuals, defining typography and color hierarchy, and creating a modular section layout that tells a story while maintaining simplicity and trust. Every design choice was guided by a focus on clarity, engagement, and conversion.

Design Process

Understanding the Brand and Users

The project began with a deep understanding of the education-tech space and the expectations of high school students seeking admission guidance. The design had to strike a balance between academic credibility and youthful energy.

Key insights:

  • Students respond better to visual storytelling and testimonials.
  • Simple, conversational CTAs outperform complex wording.
  • Clean structure and soft colors increase perceived trust.

Visual Direction and Design System

A friendly yet professional tone guided the visual language — minimal yet expressive.

  • Color Palette:Soft purples, blues, and coral pinks to evoke clarity, intelligence, and warmth.
  • Typography:Modern sans-serif typeface for readability and a tech-forward feel.
  • Layout: Modular sections ensuring easy flow from awareness to action.
  • Imagery & Icons: Relatable photos of students paired with organic shapes and circles for energy and balance.

Landing Page Design

Key Sections:

  • Hero Section: Engaging tagline — “Your Personal AI University Counselor” — paired with a warm student image and dual CTAs for individuals and schools.
  • Key Features: Four easy-to-scan cards showcasing personalization, strategy, community, and resources.
  • Why AlgoEd Section:Contrasting dark background highlighting benefits like Boost Admission Odds and Proven Success Rate.
  • Testimonials: Student success stories from Harvard, Duke, and UPenn for credibility and emotional appeal.
  • Final CTA Section: Reiterates brand promise — “Access your AI university counselor now” — driving conversions with a strong closing message.

Design Approach

The design focused on simplicity, consistency, and trust. A clear visual hierarchy guided users effortlessly through each section, supported by bright CTAs and balanced whitespace. Friendly colors and human imagery created emotional connection, while structured layouts ensured cognitive ease. Every visual detail worked to make AlgoEd feel both innovative and reliable — reflecting its mission to simplify the university admissions journey.

Outcome

Delivered a modern, conversion-ready landing page that strengthened AlgoEd’s brand presence in the education-tech space. The final design improved sign-up engagement through its clear messaging, approachable visuals, and structured content flow — successfully merging AI-driven intelligence with student-centered design.
